Riverside Cemetery

The shorter headstone on the left marks the final resting place of Br. Lt. Col. James Willington. The taller stone is for Lt. Robert Kingsbury, and the third marker (without a headstone) is for Ens. John Chapman. These officers were among the 42 men from The Buffs killed and wounded during the Plattsburgh campaign, higher than any other regiment.

The graves of Br. Lt. Col. James Willington and Lt. Robert Kingsbury appear in the second row, the second and third from the left (the flat marker for Ens. John Chapman is not visible in this photo).

The Buffs visited Riverside Cemetery in 2006, shown here at the chest marking the grave of British fleet commander Capt. George Downie.
